Skansen in Osiek nad Notecią

Muzeum Kultury Ludowej is a folk culture site spread across a large open-air area with about 28 traditional buildings including houses, mills, and farm structures from the Greater Poland region. The structures come from different periods and show how villages in this area were organized.

The site became significant through archaeological digs between 1972 and 1977, when hundreds of burials and artifacts dating back to the 5th century BCE were uncovered. These findings show the region was occupied long before modern times.

The grounds display traditional crafts and everyday objects that show how people lived in rural areas long ago. Visitors can see how households worked and what tools were used for daily tasks.

The museum is best visited early in the day when the grounds are less crowded and light is better for exploring. Good footwear and weather protection are recommended since the grounds are large and open.

The grounds sit on the site of an ancient burial ground that remained active over many centuries. Visitors walk literally on earth rich with history from pre-Christian times.
