Muzeum Marii Konopnickiej w Żarnowcu

The Muzeum Marii Konopnickiej is located in an 18th-century manor house set within extensive grounds featuring gardens and mature trees. Walking paths wind through the park, allowing visitors to explore the outdoor setting alongside the building itself.

The government presented the estate to writer Maria Konopnicka in 1903 as recognition of her 25 years of literary contributions. The manor had previously served as a private residence before becoming this official gift.

The house is named after writer Maria Konopnicka, whose literary contributions are honored throughout the rooms. Visitors experience spaces that reflect her importance to Polish letters and intellectual life.

During World War II the building served as a secret headquarters for resistance fighters from the Home Army. The walls concealed meetings and decisions that were part of Poland's struggle for freedom during the occupation.
