The Regional Museum occupies a former Piarist monastery complex with baroque polychrome cloisters and a collection of late seventeenth-century paintings.
Founded in 1935 as a social institution, the museum moved to its current location in the seventeenth-century Piarist monastery building in 1953.
The institution maintains departments of archaeology, ethnography, and art, presenting exhibitions that document the regional heritage of Podkarpacie.
Located at 3 Maja 19 in Rzeszów, the museum provides guided tours and educational workshops for visitors of different age groups.
The museum building features interior stucco work by Giovanni Battista Falconi from 1656-1657 and a façade designed by architect Tylman van Gameren.
