Ostra

Ostra is a mountain summit in the Owl Mountains, located at roughly 677 meters (2,221 feet) in elevation. The peak sits amid thick forests and rises steeply from surrounding valleys.

The summit served as a natural landmark for medieval merchants traversing the Sudetes passages. This role helped establish the mountain as a recognizable location in regional trade routes of that era.

Local mountaineering groups maintain detailed records of ascents to Ostra, contributing to the documentation of climbing achievements in the region.

Several marked trails reach the summit from different starting points, with the eastern route offering the most direct path. These paths remain accessible throughout the year, though autumn and spring provide the clearest views and most pleasant conditions.

The summit's position allows hikers to watch both sunrise and sunset from the same vantage point at certain times of year. This geographic quality makes each visit feel different depending on when you arrive during the day.
