PDT Wola, Commercial building in Wola district, Warsaw, Poland
PDT Wola is a three-story commercial and office building on Młynarska Street in the Wola district of Warsaw. The facade is covered with relief panels that give it a distinctive look, and the ground floor holds retail spaces while the upper floors are used as offices.
The building was designed in 1956 by architect Michał Przerwa-Tetmajer and opened as a department store serving the Wola neighborhood. It operated under that retail function until 2005, when it was renovated and converted into an office and business center.
The name PDT stands for Powszechny Dom Towarowy, meaning General Department Store, a name that still appears on the building even though it no longer functions as a shop. Walking past today, you can see how a space once meant for everyday shopping has become a place where people come to work.
The building is close to several bus and tram stops, so getting there by public transport is easy from most parts of the city. If you arrive by car, parking spaces are available on site.
Inside the building, Brain Embassy runs a coworking space that mixes open desks, private offices, and meeting rooms all within the same floors. This setup means the building now hosts dozens of different companies at once, something you would never have imagined when it was a department store.
