Park Dolny w Szczawnicy

Park Dolny sits in the center of Szczawnica at the base of Bryjarka mountain, combining curved pathways with ponds, gardens, and a musical pavilion. The park features several mineral water springs, including the Wanda source, along with playgrounds and other recreational facilities.

The park emerged between 1861 and 1868 when Józef Szalay leased land to the National Health Resorts Company for spa development. This founding marked the beginning of Szczawnica's transformation into a resort area centered on mineral springs.

The park honors Mikołaj Zyblikiewicz through a stone grotto built in 1890, which displays a medallion recognizing his role in marking the trail to Red Monastery. This memorial reflects how the community preserves the memory of those who helped develop the region's pathways.

The park is easily walkable and features wide paths suitable for visitors with varying mobility levels. Those wanting to access the mineral springs or explore the green spaces should visit during daylight hours when the grounds feel most active.

The Hydropatia building still stands in the park today and once served as a water clinic where innovative medical treatments using local mineral springs were performed in the 19th century. This structure reveals how central water-based healing was to the site's development as a health resort.
