Park Sielanka in Łódź

Park Sielanka is a public green space between Kurak and Rokicie neighborhoods with two shallow ponds that have reinforced banks and walking paths running through planted areas. The park includes a playground with ping-pong tables, a sledding hill at its center, and a football field in the southwestern corner.

The park began in the 19th century from Ferdinand König's palace gardens and a recreational area called Sielanka that were combined together. This merger of two older spaces created what exists today, blending the palace's historic gardens with modern recreation facilities.

Two historic palace buildings stand at the park's edges, one serving as a residence and the other housing a youth organization. These structures shape how the space feels and shows how older architecture fits into the park's everyday use today.

The park is easiest to reach by walking from the surrounding neighborhoods, and the flat paths work well for visitors of all ages. The different areas like the playground and football field are easy to spot and spread across the grounds so you can quickly find what you are looking for.

The two ponds are supplied with water from the city's water system and hold fish that local anglers look after. This connection between city water systems and the fishing community makes the park a place where nature and everyday life meet in a practical way.
