Park Szczęśliwicki

Park Szczęśliwicki, Urban park in Ochota district, Warsaw, Poland

Park Szczęśliwicki is a large green space in the Ochota district featuring two artificial lakes, walking paths, and diverse sports facilities set across rolling terrain. The area includes fitness equipment, running tracks, and a year-round ski slope with specialized surface material.

The park emerged in the 1960s on former clay extraction sites from an old brickyard, located between two historic forts. The land was later filled with post-war rubble and transformed into the recreational space it is today.

The park serves as a gathering place where neighbors meet throughout the year for shared experiences and celebrations. You can see how the space comes alive during festivals and events that bring the local community together.

The park is easy to reach with multiple entry points, making it simple to explore different areas. Most paths are well-maintained, which makes navigation straightforward for various types of visitors.

The artificial hill was built from rubble of the destroyed city and now hosts one of the few year-round ski slopes in Warsaw. This unusual transformation of war debris into a recreational destination shows how creatively the city was rebuilt.
