Adam Mickiewicz Park in Łódź, Public park in Julianów district, Łódź, Poland.
Adam Mickiewicz Park is a public park in the Julianów-Marysin-Rogi district of Łódź, set in a river valley with old trees, decorative ponds, and walking paths that wind through the grounds. The park also has sports facilities, including a model racetrack and a parachuting tower.
The land originally belonged to noble estates and was later acquired in the 1880s by manufacturer Juliusz Heinzel, who built a residence in the Italian Renaissance style and had artificial ponds dug on the grounds. After his death, the property was turned into a public park and given its current name.
The park is named after Adam Mickiewicz, one of the most celebrated poets in Polish literature, and locals feel a natural connection to it through that name. On weekends, families and older residents gather along the pond paths, making it a place of everyday life rather than a formal destination.
The park has several entrances and is easy to reach by public transport from the city center. Since the grounds cover a large area, it helps to start near the ponds and walk from there toward the sports facilities.
Around 20 trees in the park are officially registered as natural monuments, and one of them, an old oak called 'Kosynier', has its own name. This tree has stood in the park for many decades and is often sought out by visitors with an interest in old-growth specimens.
