Słowacki Park in Bielsko-Biała

Słowacki Park is a 19th-century green space in downtown Bielsko-Biała that features old established trees, fountains, and two protected oak trees scattered throughout its grounds. The site includes an outdoor ice rink during winter months, a running track, and a cycling path that connects to a children's play area.

The park was established in 1898 as a jubilee commemoration and took the name of an Austrian emperor at its opening. Before becoming a public park, the land served from 1830 to 1832 as a burial ground during a cholera outbreak in the region.

The House of Music within the park hosts the Bielskie Centrum Kultury, a cultural center where visitors can attend concerts and local performances throughout the year. This venue brings together residents and travelers interested in the area's artistic life.

The park is walkable and straightforward to navigate with clear pathways for jogging and cycling. Keep in mind that the ice rink operates only during winter months when conditions permit, so its availability depends on weather and snow coverage in the region.

From 1938 to 1939, a 40-meter parachute training tower once stood on the grounds for military practice. This structure has long since disappeared, but it remains a curious chapter in the park's layered history.
