Pałac w Dobrzycy

The palace in Dobrzyca is a two-story classicist building distinguished by a prominent portico with Tuscan columns. It stands within an English-style landscape park featuring ponds and artificial islands.

The palace was built between 1798 and 1799 under General Augustyn Gorzenski's commission, incorporating walls from a 15th-century residence. This blend of old foundations with new construction shaped the site's building history.

The painted interiors showcase work by artist Antoni Smuglewicz, who incorporated symbolic motifs into the rooms. These artistic choices reflect the tastes and interests of those who once lived here.

The grounds function as a museum focused on the history of landed gentry, featuring permanent displays and rotating exhibitions. Visitors can explore the park and see various architectural structures scattered across the property.

The park contains one of Poland's largest plane trees, an impressive specimen that has survived for generations. Additionally, a restaurant sits on an island within the grounds, recalling the leisure traditions of the estate.
