Karłuszowiec Palace Complex in Tarnowskie Góry

Karłuszowiec Palace Complex is a classicist ensemble featuring a main palace, administrative buildings, a villa, and landscaped grounds with tree-lined paths. Linden tree allées run through the property, defining its layout and appearance.

Construction was completed in 1750 for Franciszek Ludwik Henckel von Donnersmarck, who commissioned the complex as a new residence. The project followed the loss of his previous property in the area.

The entrance gate displays two late Baroque statues of Saint Florian and Saint John of Nepomuk, moved here from a former Jesuit school. These figures shape the character of the gateway as visitors approach.

The grounds now house several institutions including an art school, a kindergarten, and a medical facility focused on respiratory care. Visitors should check which areas are open to the public.

The estate takes its name from Karol Józef, the father of the original owner, a choice that has persisted through centuries. This naming decision reveals how the family honored its roots while establishing their new home.
