Pawilon Iglica na MTP, Exhibition pavilion at Poznań International Fair, Poland.
The Iglica Pavilion is an exhibition hall at the Poznań International Fair featuring a striking metal spire rising from its circular base. The structure provides several thousand square meters of space for trade exhibitions and business events.
The pavilion was designed in 1954 by architect Bolesław Szmidt following the destruction of a previous landmark. The new hall was intended to serve as a replacement gathering point within the fairgrounds complex.
The building reflects Soviet constructivist design principles and stands out distinctly among the fairground structures. Visitors immediately notice its unconventional form, which contrasts sharply with typical modern exhibition halls.
The fairgrounds are located near the main railway station and are easily accessible by public transportation. When visiting, it helps to explore the layout to find the best route to different exhibition areas.
During renovations in the early 2000s, workers discovered portions of an older steel structure beneath the modern exterior. This find reveals how the building underwent changes and updates over the decades.
