Planty nad Kanałem Bydgoskim

The park stretches over 47 hectares along the Bydgoszcz Canal, featuring black poplars, chestnut trees, oaks, elms, beeches, and water-loving black alders.

The park's development began in 1832 when the City Beautification Society initiated systematic tree planting efforts along the canal, which connected the Noteć and Brda rivers.

Throughout the 19th century, the park transformed into a recreational center with pavilion restaurants, entertainment venues, tennis courts, and an amusement park for city residents.

The park offers walking paths, jogging trails, and picnic areas along a 3-kilometer stretch, making it accessible from multiple parts of the city.

The park contains six preserved historical locks from the original Bydgoszcz Canal system, built between 1773 and 1774 as Poland's first completed waterway.
