Pomnik Niepodległości w Kielcach, Independence memorial at railway station square, Kielce, Poland
The Independence Monument stands near the railway station with a granite base and a bronze eagle atop a globe, reaching 11 meters high.
First constructed in 1929 to honor Polish fighters against Russians in 1914, the monument was destroyed by German forces in 1939 and rebuilt in 2002.
The monument serves as a central location for national ceremonies, particularly during Polish Independence Day celebrations on November 11th each year.
Located in the center of Kielce near the main railway station, the memorial includes four commemorative plaques and four emblems on its middle section.
The monument features a one-and-a-half-meter bronze eagle wearing a Vasa crown, symbolizing Polish aviation traditions and national aspirations.
