Exaltation of the Holy Cross church in Kielce, Gothic Revival church in Kielce, Poland.

The Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church in Kielce is a neo-Gothic place of worship with two tall towers and a stone facade decorated with pointed arches and carved details, located on 1 Maja Street in the city center. The interior follows the same style, with a nave flanked by side aisles and stained glass windows that filter the light coming through the walls.

Construction started in 1903 and the church was completed in 1913, designed by architect Stanislaw Szpakowski during a period when Kielce was growing quickly. The building was intended to serve the needs of a population that had outgrown the existing places of worship in the city.

The church stands at the center of everyday religious life in Kielce and fills with worshippers during major feast days. Its two tall towers make it a natural reference point in the city, recognized by residents as a familiar part of their daily surroundings.

The church is in the center of Kielce and easy to reach on foot from the main streets of the old town. Since it is still used for regular services, visiting outside of service hours gives you more freedom to look around inside.

Although the church follows neo-Gothic forms on the outside, some of the interior decorations draw from Polish folk art traditions, which sets it apart from many other churches built in the same style at the same time. This mix becomes noticeable when you look closely at the ornamental details on the walls and furnishings inside.
