Żelazno palace

Żelazno palace, Baroque palace in Żelazno, Poland

Żelazno Palace is a stately Baroque structure with a prominent central block and symmetrical wings displaying characteristic 18th-century architectural elements. The composition reflects the formal layout typical of aristocratic residences from this period.

Originally called Schloss Eisersdorf, the structure remained under German control until 1945 when the region became Polish territory following World War II. This transition marked a fundamental shift in the place's history and ownership.

The palace reflects the tastes of Silesian nobility, who blended German and Polish design elements throughout its spaces. Visitors can observe this mix in the facade details and interior furnishings.

The site sits approximately 7 kilometers south of Kłodzko and can be reached by following the main road through the village of Żelazno. Clear signage helps visitors locate the palace in this rural setting.

The building was designed by architect Karl Schmidt, whose style incorporated specific architectural details that set it apart from other Baroque structures in the region. This designer's mark remains visible in the overall composition.
