Praszywka Wielka

Praszywka Wielka is a summit in the Żywiec Beskid range rising to about 1043 meters, with a notably flat peak that opens into a large clearing. This exposed ridge top provides views across surrounding mountain ranges and the river valleys cutting through the landscape below.

The mountain's name comes from the Romanian word 'prâşit', marking the agricultural heritage brought by Wallachian settlers to this region. These groups shaped the flat ridge areas through pastoral practices that left a lasting impression on the landscape.

The mountain area hosted traditional pastoral practices linked to Wallachian settlers, visible in the flat ridge terrain where they once raised livestock. Student groups gather here during summer months for outdoor education programs, maintaining a connection to the land's agricultural past.

Multiple marked hiking trails lead to the summit from nearby villages, with options ranging from easier to more demanding routes. The broad, flat peak area makes orientation simple and offers many spots to rest with clear views in all directions.

The summit sits between two deep valleys where the Rycerka river and its tributary flow, creating distinct waterfall formations where the streams drop sharply. These water features are often overlooked by visitors focused only on the ridge top.
