Pstrąże, Abandoned village in Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland.
Pstrąże is an abandoned settlement in Lower Silesian Voivodeship located roughly 20 kilometers from Bolesławiec in southwestern Poland. The Bóbr River ran through its territory, shaping the landscape around the community.
The settlement originated in 1305 as part of the Kliczkowski estate and later transformed into a Soviet military base. Following the Soviet withdrawal in 1992, the site was gradually abandoned.
The settlement was nicknamed 'Little Soviet Union' because Soviet soldiers were stationed here and interacted regularly with Polish residents in everyday life. This military presence shaped how the community lived and functioned during those decades.
All buildings were demolished in October 2016 and reduced to foundations for safety reasons. Access to the site is now limited due to the unstable condition of the remaining structures.
Two Soviet monuments still stand on the grounds, including a Victory Monument bearing an image of Vladimir Lenin. These structures remain as silent witnesses to the site's Soviet past.
