The railway crossing in Orzesze was a junction point where lines 169 and 159 met at right angles, forming a perpendicular intersection. Original track sections are now displayed in a commemorative installation near the city hall, preserving this element of the town's railway infrastructure.

The crossing emerged in 1884 when the Upper Silesian Railway Company completed its line from Orzesze to Żory, intersecting the existing Wilhelm Railway. This junction became a vital transport point as the coal mining region expanded.

This crossing point reflects the industrial past of Upper Silesia and shows how railways shaped the region's coal mining economy. Visitors can sense how the area depended on efficient transport networks to move resources and goods across the landscape.

The site is accessible through a commemorative display next to Orzesze city hall, where you can view the original track sections. The location is open to visitors at any time and offers a straightforward way to see the historical infrastructure.

Until 2010, this crossing was Poland's only fully electrified perpendicular railway intersection, monitored by the Olszynka signal box. This technical distinction made it a rare example of 20th-century railway engineering in the region.
