WOP post in Gościce

The military facility contained accommodation for 56 soldiers, administrative offices, and surveillance equipment for monitoring the Polish-Czechoslovak border section.

Established in 1945 as the 228th WOP post, the station operated under the 49th command sector in Paczków and received a new designation as the 237th post in 1954.

The border guards stationed at Gościce developed specific procedures and protocols for communicating with their Czechoslovak counterparts during routine border patrols.

The post maintained continuous surveillance of its assigned border section through regular foot patrols, horseback monitoring, and fixed observation points throughout the year.

Following the disbandment in 2003, the former military border post transformed into residential housing while maintaining its original structural characteristics.
