Maszt Wolności, Transmission mast in Żoliborz district, Warsaw, Poland
Maszt Wolności is a 63-meter steel structure in the Żoliborz district with a large Polish flag mounted at its top. The flag measures approximately 100 square meters and is visible from many vantage points across the neighborhood.
The mast was erected in 2014 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising and Poland's decade of European Union membership. This construction merged two major milestones in the country's recent history.
The mast stands at Radosław Roundabout, a location tied to wartime resistance and sacrifice. It serves as a meeting point where locals pass daily, acknowledging its role as a symbol of national identity.
The site is located on an open roundabout in Żoliborz and is accessible from several directions. Visitors can view the structure from different distances and angles throughout the day without barriers.
The height of 63 meters was deliberately chosen to match the number of days the Warsaw Uprising lasted in 1944. This symbolic connection between the structure and the historical event gives the mast deeper significance.
