Church of the Dormition in Bałucianka

The Church of the Dormition in Bałucianka is a wooden structure with a three-part layout topped by traditional shingle roofs and octagonal domes that taper toward their peaks. A separate brick bell tower stands beside the main building, completing the religious complex.

The building was constructed around 1750 as a house of worship for the Greek Catholic community of the region. After the local population was relocated in the 1940s, the church lost its original congregation.

The interior displays religious paintings in baroque style that speak to the Orthodox tradition of the region and offer visitors insight into the spiritual art of the community.

The church is easily accessible and located in a rural setting with straightforward access routes. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and come prepared for a quiet, green environment.

Inside the church are royal doors from the 15th century by craftsmen of the Halician school, later moved to a museum for safekeeping. These rare wooden pieces reveal the artistic skill that existed in the region during that period.
