Kule Cemetery in Częstochowa

Kule Cemetery in Częstochowa sits on a hillside north of the city center and contains multiple sections with graves spanning different periods. The burial ground features private family chapels alongside individual grave markers arranged across its sloping terrain.

The cemetery was established in 1882 after previous burial sites in the Fabryczna and Ogrodowa streets area were closed. The first burials took place two years later, marking the beginning of use at this new location.

The cemetery contains burial chapels that belonged to prominent local families and reflect the burial customs of the city's wealthier inhabitants. These private tombs show how important families marked their place in the community through their final resting places.

The main entrance is located at 47 Cmentarna Street, easily accessible from the city center. Wear sturdy footwear since the terrain is sloped and can become slippery during wet weather.

The southeastern section contains a distinct area dedicated to Orthodox burial practices, holding graves of Russian officials and military personnel. These graves were relocated from other cemeteries that no longer exist.
