The Church of Saint Anthony features white stone walls, decorative elements, and a prominent central dome overlooking the Lisbon Cathedral neighborhood.
Following the 1755 earthquake that destroyed the original structure, architect Mateus Vicente de Oliveira rebuilt the church in 1767 on Saint Anthony's birthplace.
The church holds religious ceremonies on June 13th, when local residents gather to honor Saint Anthony through processions and flower offerings.
Located at Largo de Santo Antonio da Se, the church welcomes visitors from Tuesday to Saturday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
The church crypt contains blue and white azulejo tiles commemorating Pope John Paul II's 1982 visit for Saint Anthony's 750th birthday celebration.
