Centro de Apoio Social de Runa

The Centro de Apoio Social de Runa features a quadrilateral structure spanning 99 meters in width, 61 meters in depth, and reaches 13 meters in height.

Princess Maria Francisca Benedita commissioned the construction of this military veterans' home in 1792, which opened its doors to 16 veterans in July 1827.

The central church houses a golden silver monstrance weighing 14.7 kilograms, decorated with precious stones that belonged to Princess Maria Francisca Benedita.

The building contains 365 windows and connects to the main road through a 170-meter-long tree-lined avenue with gardens containing various plant species.

The Royal Tribune provides a view into the church interior and contains Portuguese and international artworks, including 16th-century paintings of saints.
