The Castle of Folgosinho stands at 930 meters above sea level, featuring circular walls, guard towers, and a central courtyard within its stone structure.

King Sancho I ordered the construction of this castle in 1183, possibly building it upon the remains of an earlier Lusitanian fortification.

The castle received classification as Immovable Cultural Heritage of Public Interest, marking its importance in Portuguese architectural and military history.

Visitors can reach the castle by following marked paths from Folgosinho village, with the site offering views across the Mondego valley.

The castle walls combine two distinct construction methods: lower masonry foundations supporting upper stonework layers with integrated defensive elements.
