The current building replaced an earlier chapel in 1874, with its main staircase constructed between 1805 and 1813 during the second chapel period.
The seminary includes a cemetery with two granite crosses from different periods, one from the 15th century depicting the Lord of Consolation.

Two different styles of crucifixion representation appear on the cemetery crosses, with one showing separated feet rather than the traditional overlapping position.
