Furadouro beach, Atlantic beach in Ovar, Portugal.
The beach stretches along one kilometer of golden sand where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Portuguese coast north of Porto.
Furadouro beach has maintained high environmental standards since 1987, when it received its first Blue Flag certification for water quality.
Local fishermen continue their traditional practices at the southern pier, carrying forward generations of maritime heritage in this coastal community.
Visitors can access two parking areas near the northern dunes, with lifeguard services operating from mid-June through mid-September each year.
The beach connects to a protected dune system that forms part of the Cortegaça Coastal Unit in the Costa de Prata region.
