Parque do Bom Jesus, Public park in Braga, Portugal.
The park stretches across a forested area with walking paths, artificial lakes, and numerous gardens surrounding the Bom Jesus do Monte Sanctuary.
The creation of the park began after a royal charter in 1806 granted uncultivated lands near the Bom Jesus Church for sanctuary development.
The grounds incorporate Portuguese garden design principles with geometric patterns, decorative fountains, and stone benches placed throughout the walking paths.
Visitors can rent boats on the largest artificial lake, access multiple restaurants within the park grounds, and use designated areas for horseback riding.
The park features an engineered water-powered funicular from 1882 that carries passengers up the steep hillside to access different sections.
