Varosa Dam

Varosa Dam is an arch dam built across the Varosa River that creates a large reservoir for power generation. The structure uses a curved concrete design to distribute water pressure effectively across its span.

The dam was built in 1934 and was an early hydroelectric facility in northern Portugal during the country's industrialization period. This project helped supply the region with renewable power.
