Ermida de Santo António, Mannerist church in Vila Nova da Baronia, Portugal.

The Ermida de Santo António is a small church with a single nave and a barrel-vaulted ceiling. The entrance features a portico supported by rounded arches that reflects the architectural style of its period.

Construction of this chapel began around 1600 as part of a broader wave of church building in the Alentejo region. This period marked an important phase of religious architecture across southern Portugal.

The interior walls display frescoes from the 1700s showing angels with musical instruments and scenes from Saint Anthony's life. These paintings offer a direct view of how religious stories were shown to worshippers.

The chapel is protected as a Monument of Public Interest and can be viewed from outside and nearby paths. The location is quiet and set back from the village center, making it easy to reach.

The chapel once contained polychrome tiles with oriental designs from the 1600s. These tiles were carefully removed in the 1960s to preserve them from further damage.
