Lusail

Lusail is a contemporary coastal city north of Doha with residential neighborhoods, office complexes, and shops spread along wide boulevards. Pedestrian zones and parks connect different districts throughout the area.

The site was originally home to Sheikh Jasim in the early 20th century when it was known mainly for a native plant. Urban development began only in the 2000s with large-scale construction projects.

Weekly markets and public squares draw families who meet to stroll and spend time together. The marina and waterfront promenade are popular meeting spots for evening walks.

Getting there is easiest by metro, which runs directly into the center and offers connections to the tram. Walkways are mostly covered or shaded, which helps during high temperatures.

The towers in the harbor area mirror the shape of traditional swords, giving them a distinctive profile. Many visitors notice this reference only on a second look.
