Liceul Teoretic „Tamási Áron”

Liceul Teoretic "Tamási Áron" is a three-story school building in Odorheiu Secuiesc with early 20th-century architectural style. Its exterior displays eclectic and Secession design patterns across the full facade.

This school's roots go back to 1593 when Jesuit monks founded the first educational facility in Odorheiu Secuiesc using church buildings. The current structure was designed by Sándor Pápai and completed in 1909-1910, replacing an earlier school building.

The school teaches in Hungarian and remains an important place for the Hungarian-speaking community in this area. Visitors can see how the building is used daily by students and plays an active role in community life.

The building sits next to Saint Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, making it easy to locate. Since the school is still in operation, visitors should know that this is an active teaching facility and tours may be limited.

The original building, called the 'Tanoda', served as a school for over 200 years before the current structure replaced it. This long history of use shows how important the location has been for education in the region.
