Vulpe Church

Vulpe Church is located at number 40 Sărăriei Street and is dedicated to the Dormition of the Mother of God and Anthony the Great. The building is a solid stone structure with traditional Orthodox features and an interior designed for regular worship and community gatherings.

The stone building was constructed in 1844 with financial support from voivode Teodor Burada, marking a major reconstruction effort. Earlier versions of the church had suffered damage from fires and earthquakes before being rebuilt in this solid form.

The church was deeply connected to local craft guilds, particularly those who made blankets and traditional fabrics. Its development reflects the close relationship between religious spaces and the city's working communities.

The church sits in the northeastern part of Iași's center and is easily reached by walking along Sărăriei Street. The location is straightforward to find and sits within a residential neighborhood with other historic buildings nearby.

The church grounds once held a cemetery with notable grave markers, including one honoring someone who fought in the Moldavian Revolution of 1848. This burial ground served as a place where the community preserved memories of significant local history.
