Conacul Marghiloman din Buzău, 19th-century aristocratic estate in Buzău, Romania
The Marghiloman Manor includes the Albatros Villa, auxiliary buildings, and stables, all enclosed by a historic wall in eastern Buzău.
Built between 1883 and 1887 by Iancu Marghiloman and later enhanced by architect Paul Gottereau, this estate gained prominence during Romania's pre-war period.
The estate reflects the architectural evolution of Romanian nobility residences, combining local design elements with European influences of the late 1800s.
The manor complex sits within a large dendrological park featuring walking paths, a lake with a bridge, stone statues, and children's play areas.
The Albatros Villa received its name from Alexandru Marghiloman's favorite Arabian horse, which was kept in the estate's prestigious stables.
