Monastery Krepičevac, orthodox Monastery
Monastery Krepičevac is a religious site located near Jablanica village in the Boljevac area, likely built at the end of the 15th century. The church has a three-part structure in Moravian style and contains frescoes depicting biblical scenes and the funeral of a monk.
The monastery was likely founded at the end of the 15th century and served as a place of prayer and gathering for local people over many centuries. In the 18th century, particularly from 1761, it housed portraits of donors and images of saints, testifying to its importance.
Access to the monastery is via an unpaved road from Jablanica village, which can be challenging in bad weather. Visitors should allow time for the walk through the forest surroundings to fully experience this remote and quiet sanctuary.
Local legend tells that the monastery was moved to its current location after Prince Golub of Jablanica dreamed of supernatural forces relocating it there. The numerous water springs near the sanctuary have long been revered by locals as healing and rejuvenating.
