Library "Laza Kostić"

The central library of Čukarica municipality operates from Turgenjevljeva 5 street, providing literature and information services to local residents of Belgrade.

Founded in 1945 as Lazo Kočović, the library received its current name in 1995 to commemorate the birth date of Serbian poet Laza Kostić.

The facility maintains four branch libraries across the district, hosting exhibitions, literary discussions, and educational programs for children and adults.

The reading room contains six tables, twelve chairs, four armchairs, and computer terminals with free internet access for visitors.

The library traces its origins to a socialist reading room established by farmer Rade Spasenović in Žarkovo village during 1903.
