Novaya Opera Theatre, Opera house in central Moscow, Russia
The Novaya Opera Theatre occupies a building decorated in Art Nouveau style on Karetny Ryad Street within the Hermitage Garden of Moscow.
The theater came into existence in 1991 through the initiative of conductor Evgeny Kolobov and Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov, receiving Kolobov's name in 2006.
The theater presents both Russian and Western classical operas, including Wagner's Tristan and Isolde, Donizetti's Maria Stuart, and Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov.
Visitors can attend performances Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 to 20:00 in the 660-seat auditorium located at 3 Karetny Ryad Street.
The theater established new performance formats by creating theatrical presentations dedicated to great composers, accompanied by symphony orchestra performances.
