Zavyalovsky District is a municipal district located in the southern-central region of Udmurt Republic, comprising many rural settlements and communities. The area includes several small towns and villages connected by local roads and agricultural lands throughout the territory.
The district was created in 1937 through administrative reform as part of the Udmurt Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. Following the Soviet collapse, it became an administrative unit within the Russian Federation.
The district maintains 19 rural councils called selsoviet, each managing local affairs and preserving traditional practices within their respective communities.
The region is sparsely populated with agriculture as the main activity, so allow extra time for travel between settlements. It's helpful to check in advance what services and shops are available in smaller communities.
The district operates on Moscow Standard Time plus one hour, with its administrative center Zavyalovo representing 13.6 percent of the total population.
