Stroganov Palace, Baroque palace at Nevsky Prospekt and Moika River, Russia
The three-story palace features a grand entrance arch supported by Corinthian columns and displays the Stroganov coat of arms on its pediment.
Baron Sergei Stroganov commissioned architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli to design this residence in 1752, completing construction by 1754.
The interior rooms contain collections from the State Russian Museum, including decorative arts and paintings from various historical periods.
The palace opens daily except Thursdays, with guided tours available in multiple languages that cover both the architecture and Stroganov family history.
A mysterious man's profile appears under the windows of the facade, sparking debates about whether it represents Baron Stroganov or architect Rastrelli.
