Mount Narodnaya, Highest summit of the Ural Mountains in Russia

Mount Narodnaya rises to 1,895 meters above sea level, featuring steep slopes covered with highland tundra and small glaciers on its northern face.

The mountain formed during the Proterozoic Eon and Cambrian Period, consisting of quartzites and metamorphosed slates that shaped its current geological structure.

The name Narodnaya connects to the Naroda River, which flows from the mountain and marks the natural boundary between European Russia and Siberia.

Access to Mount Narodnaya requires extensive preparation, with the northwest slope offering the most approachable route for experienced mountaineers during summer months.

Mount Narodnaya stands as the highest point in European Russia outside the Caucasus region, with a vertical separation of 1,771 meters from its base.
