Troitse-Gledensky Monastery

Troitse-Gledensky Monastery sits at the junction of the Sukhona and Yug Rivers, displaying stone structures with a five-domed Trinity Cathedral as its central feature. The complex contains multiple buildings that form a historical ensemble, now serving museum functions.

The monastery was founded in the 12th century and grew into a wealthy institution with significant land holdings. In the 20th century, it underwent major changes, first becoming an agricultural commune and later serving different purposes.

The monastery displays local artistic traditions through its five-row iconostasis, which reflects how regional craftsmen created religious art for this community. Visitors can observe these works and see how the region expressed its spiritual heritage.
