Yuzhnoye Butovo District, Residential district in South-Western Moscow, Russia

The district extends over 27 square kilometers and includes numerous residential complexes, parks, and commercial centers at the southern edge of Moscow.

The district originated from a settlement founded in 1612 by Don Cossack Butov, whose name remains attached to the territory after four centuries.

The Butovo memorial complex preserves the memory of thousands of victims from the 1930s through its museum, cemetery, and Orthodox church.

The Butovskaya metro line connects the district to central Moscow through four stations: Ulitsa Skobelevskaya, Bulvar Admirala Ushakova, Ulitsa Gorchakova, and Buninskaya Alleya.

The Butovo firing range contains mass graves where over 20,000 individuals were buried between August 1937 and October 1938 during the Soviet period.
