VILAR Botanical Garden, Botanical garden and research facility in Moscow, Russia.
The VILAR Botanical Garden spans 30 hectares featuring departments organized by geographical regions, including Far East, Siberia, and Central Asia sections.
The garden was founded in 1951 following a decree from the Council of Ministers of the USSR and completed its establishment between 1952 and 1960.
The garden maintains specialized sections for pharmacological plants and conducts educational programs for future pharmacists and landscape designers throughout the year.
Visitors can explore over 1,300 plant species in open grounds and 500 species in greenhouses, with guided tours available during summer months.
Three artificial ponds, created in the 1970s using water from the Botanic Stream, provide recreational fishing opportunities within the garden grounds.
