Sosnovo

Sosnovo is a rural settlement on the Karelian Isthmus, located along the Saint Petersburg-Kuznechnoye railroad line in Priozersky District. The settlement sits within a forested landscape and functions as a minor railway junction serving the wider region.

The settlement was established around 1500 under the Finnish name Rautu and experienced significant territorial shifts during World War II. Following the Winter War, the area came under Soviet control in 1944 and remained within the Soviet system thereafter.
