Kutuzov Embankment, Waterfront promenade along Neva River in Saint Petersburg, Russia
The 720-meter stone embankment stretches from Fontanka River to Liteyny Bridge, offering views of the Petrograd Side and Cruiser Aurora.
The embankment received its name after Field Marshal Mikhail Kutuzov, who lived at house number 30 from 1798 to 1812 before departing to fight Napoleon.
Multiple historic mansions line the embankment, including the former residence of Count Kushelev-Bezborodko, whose art collection transferred to the Hermitage Museum.
Visitors can reach the embankment by taking the metro to Chernyshevskaya station and walking through the surrounding streets of central Saint Petersburg.
The Bauer House at number 36, constructed in the 1780s, contains colorful mosaics created by students of the Small Academy of Arts in its courtyard.
