The Mansion of Ivan Betskoy is a classical palace on Millionnaya Street in Saint Petersburg, featuring symmetrical stone facades, traditional columns, and regularly arranged rectangular windows across multiple levels. The building occupies a corner position where two major streets intersect near the Lebyazhya Canal.
Construction took place from 1784 to 1787 under the direction of French architect Jean-Baptiste Vallin de la Mothe. Russian architect Vasily Stasov later modified the structure significantly until 1830.
The residence belonged to Ivan Betskoy, who established Russia's first public education system and worked closely with Empress Catherine the Great.
The mansion is located at the corner of Palace Embankment and Millionnaya Street in central Saint Petersburg, easily accessible by public transport. The site offers convenient views of surrounding canals and squares in the historic district.
