Gorenki Estate, Federal cultural heritage site in Balashikha, Russia
Gorenki Estate is a manor house in Balashikha with a central structure flanked by two wings and surrounded by grounds with gardens. The buildings display neoclassical design, featuring symmetrical proportions, columns, and refined details typical of the style.
Originally called Korobkin wasteland, the property came under the ownership of Nikifor Plescheev in 1623 and was transformed into a grand manor. Over time, it developed into an important center with extensive collections that drew scholars from across the region.
The estate served as a gathering place for scholars and scientists who came to study and conduct research on its grounds. The botanical garden attracted visitors interested in learning about the diverse plant collections displayed throughout the property.
The estate is accessible via Enthusiasts Highway and is located in Balashikha, east of Moscow. Visitors should be aware that access to certain areas may be limited due to the property's heritage status.
The Golden Hall underwent major restoration work in 1910 under architect Sergei Chernyshev for manufacturer Viktor Sevryugov. This restoration shaped the interior design that visitors see in this room today.
