Беневские водопады, Series of waterfalls in Lazovsky District, Russia.
The Benevski Waterfalls form a series of more than 25 cascades that flow down along the Elamovsky stream in Lazovsky District. The main waterfall drops roughly 24 meters and serves as the centerpiece of this natural water system.
The waterfall system took its name from a Chinese settler named Elamov who lived in the stream valley during early settlement times. This name has remained for the entire cascade chain to the present day.
The largest waterfall in the system received the name Star of Primorye to represent the natural wealth of the Primorsky region.
The hiking path to the waterfalls starts about four kilometers from Benevskoe village and follows the stream uphill. The trails can be slippery, especially after rain, so visitors should wear sturdy footwear and move carefully.
In winter months, the waterfalls freeze into large ice formations while water continues to flow underneath the frozen surface. This creates a rare landscape of frozen cascades that looks remarkable when temperatures drop below freezing.
